In November of 2020, Nepenthe released their debut EP, Elegies of Loss and Doom, earning recognition from the underground doom and black metal communities. Their upcoming EP, The Fading Promise of Tomorrow (due November 2024), marks their first new music in four years. We have united both EPs in a single release on LP, CD, and digital platforms.
The opening track, “Upon These Unfamiliar Shores,” is an 8-minute epic that weaves vivid imagery and rich symbolism with dark acoustic passages, ethereal atmospherics, and black metal riffing to evoke a profound sense of existential reflection.
